Bec Hac, 21, is an illustrator and writer living in Chicago. She is currently earning her BFAW at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago.
Hac’s work in printmaking exists as comics and handmade books. Using the dark, soft materials of graphite and ink to invoke memory, both individual and shared, which takes on a new life as it is printed and bound to narrative. The cycle of printing, especially her preferred method of the risograph, confronts the distortion that occurs from repetition: mental and emotional cycles, but also physical motions fabrication, or the turning of the page.
