Shaina Nyman is a Philadelphia based artist receiving her BFA in Photography + Film Media at The University of the Arts.
Working mostly in analog mediums, her studio practice uses photography and filmmaking as a process to reach personal moments of clarity. Focusing on themes of emotion and memory, her work reflects upon personal experiences. Her most recent endeavors are all works that examine a lifetime of poor body image and a dysmorphic sense of self. This subject has been an ongoing project and process and making pictures, whether moving or still, acts a an attempt to understanding herself.
