Anastasiya Kostyshyn is a Chicago based artist who was born in Ternopil, Ukraine. Anastasiya earned her BFA at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, and currently she is working on her portfolio.
Her work presents portraits of young people located in natural landscapes or surrounded by nature elements like flowers, grass, or trees o celebrate the connection of man and nature. Natural motifs often encircle the figures like a halo or a throne in order to give them a religious aura. Her use of bright, glazed colors gives her work a surreal, luminous atmosphere to heighten the effect of myth and religiosity. Symbolic elements show a mythical or sinister aspect of her work.
