Eli was born and raised in Lenox, Massachusetts. He currently attends The School of the Art Institute of Chicago as a Junior. He is living full time in Chicago now, while being represented by 46 Green street Gallery in New York.
Using found objects ranging from delicate fabrics to rusted farm tools, Eli's sculptures emerge from seemingly opposing elements guided together to create a single form. Underlying each piece is the desire to give meaningful, unified existence to inanimate matter. Eli's works presented in his portfolio demonstrate his learned and inherent understanding of formal sculpture, the nuances of building with mixed media, and creative foresight. The representational nature of Eli's work along with recognizable, everyday objects, intend to make the sculptures accessible and relatable to a broad and inclusive.
